Oh the simple pleasures...

Adding one cue-ball to a game of pool sounds a simple variant, but it's a very different game. Play your normal rules (American, carries, free-table, whatever) with the following additional rules.

Double-white English/8-ball Pool

1. The game uses two cue-balls
2. All usual fouls and rules still stand
   
3. The second cue-ball is placed at the head of the triangle before the break, as per the pink in a game of snooker. It should not be touching the leading ball
4. Break as normal, observing the rule blow (rule 5)
   
5. A foul is committed if a cue-ball touches the other cue-ball prior to hitting any other ball (and, of course, if the hitting of said ball is also a foul)
6. Players may alternate between cue-balls during their turn at the table
7. If a cue-ball is potted, the same ball must be re-tabled and played for at least the first shot. Following a legal shot, the player may then use either cue-ball for the remainder of their turn at the table.
8. If playing with 'ball in hand', 'free table' rules, or variants, a player may move either cue-ball following an opponent's foul, providing the foul was not the potting of a cue-ball (see rule 7)
9. A player must use the same cue-ball to pot the Black that they used to pot their final colour, if the player is intending to pot both balls at the same turn at the table. Otherwise, the player may use either cue-ball to target the Black
10. If a player should ever have two shots to pot Black, they must always use the same cue-ball for their turn at the table. In subsequent turns at the table, if any, the player may use either cue-ball to target the Black (observing rule 5 and 8)

phew! I suppose this means a lot of diligent play-testing! ;)

honesty - 'just when I thought...'

Honesty if my new defense. I honestly don't think that a comment or thought can be offensive or rude if I am honest and say what I think. After all, to be honest is to credit someone with intelligence. And I'm done with living like I don't have an opinion.

Yes, I'm making excuses for this poem/observation. But rather that than have myself misunderstood. Because in all, I think, observation and honest counts for so much. Just an observation I'm commenting on. Because it's interesting...
